Children need to be involved in every step to see the changes and values they can create
ART FOR HOPE
ART FOR HOPE is a humanitarian initiative designed to improve the lives of children and their communities by introducing art education, often for the first time, to the extreme poverty regions. With our expertise in children art education, we work directly with local schools to implement/add liberal arts class into their existing curriculums and assist with children’s cognitive overall development.
We provide custom designed curriculum, art supplies, teacher resources to our partner schools who often are restrained on resources with no capacity on providing art classes. M.Y. Yu serves as a missing piece in the puzzle.
At the same time, we strive to not only bring art into children’s lives, but also create fundraising opportunities that will give them access to basic needs and a better quality of life. Through ART FOR HOPE, artwork created by children in poor and developing areas will become available for purchase to people all over the world. Contributions will go towards buying food, school uniforms, tooth brushes, building wells, water pumps, building supplies and other essential needs for these children, who will be inspired to go to school and focus on their education thanks to an improved quality of life.
In school, children will enjoy the newfound freedom of exploring their creativity and imagination through art, which will include drawing, painting, coloring, reading and other activities essential to healthy development.
Art
Art is the core value of M.Y. Yu Foundation. We bring the joy of creating art to children, at the same time, also use art as a communication tool to give children in poverty more hopes, both emotionally and physically, by fostering characters and improving community.
Infrastructure
In many poverty areas, schools still struggle with the needs for basic infrastructure. Without food, clean water, or functional blackboards, schools can’t provide standard quality education. ART FOR HOPE project focuses on working with schools that need most help.
Growth
Artworks created by children in the ART FOR HOPE project will be used in fundraising or sold to collectors. We hope to present the values of art, both social and financial, and to encourage children to be part of the force of improving their schools and education.
